What to Do in Aspen
I’m gonna promise something to you: your kids will love these ideas. And so will you.
Chances are you live in the valley or are planning a trip to a ski resort. Perhaps, you already arrived to Aspen and are looking for some exciting kids activities. And there is a chance, too, that you’d like to know what those cooking classes are.
Whatever it is that brought you here, we have some ideas about what to do in Aspen. Welcome to kiddiecookers!
What to do in Aspen in winter
Aspen is synonym of winter sports. Aspen Mountain, aka “Ajax”, has been an all time favorite among knowledgeable skiers for decades. Gliding down the slopes is so much fun!
Although expensive… and a little bit chilly, isn’t it? I don’t know about you, but as for me, I’d rather stay at home in front of a fireplace, having some quality time playing with the kids, tasting yummy cookies made by them... Oops, don’t tell me your kids don’t know how to bake cookies… No? Really? Ok, Aspen Mountain, then.
Or, instead, why not enrolling them in a cooking course?! And whom you’re gonna call? Kiddiecookers! That’s it!
What to do in Aspen during fall
Everybody who has been to Maroon Bells in fall fell in love with the landscape. The mountain is about 12 miles from Aspen. You won´t believe the unending shades of yellow, green and brown in the glacial valley. At the foot of the mountain you will… adore Maroon Lake… which is…
Yeah, I know… that’s so boring…
After a few hours kids will be unbearable; after a few days, nothing’s left but a couple of memories and some pics in your PC...
I can almost hear you cry: So… what to do in Aspen, pleaaase? Tell me what to do in Aspennnn!
Calm down! Did I mention that kiddiecookers has funny activities all year long? And that both boys and girls love to cook? They really do!
They will use for the rest of their lives the skills they learned in the kitchen with other kids in a fun, engaging environment. Hey! You still can take pictures of them spilling milk in our kitchen and… then, bury them (no, not your kids; the pics) in your PC as usual! But, those will be pictures of your children laughing and having a terrific time!
So, what to do in Aspen? After school classes!! There is an International Gourmet Cuisine fair where your girls AND boys can learn to cook Chinese sagos and Swedish toffee. Don’t worry; they will practice Pancake-to-the-ceiling Throwing 101 and old American tried and true “real” meals, too; just in case you were wondering…
Party Extravaganzas: What to do in Aspen at night
At kiddiecookers, kids learn that they can have better foods than the usual junk they like. And they learn healthy habits, too. Did you know that 1 out of 4 children in Aspen is considered obese? Fast foods, lack of exercise, TV, computers and video-games are the main causes besides wrong nutrition habits. Children who learned about nutrition and healthy foods are less likely to
- become overweight adults
- develop depression
- have high blood pressure
- develop diabetes
- have bad cholesterol
Here’s what to do in Aspen if it’s one of your kids or your kid’s best friend birthday: Let your children learn while they organize their own kiddicookers’s Birthday Party Extravaganzas. Up to ten kids can enjoy an unforgettable party where they cook their pies.
What to do in Aspen’s surroundings
You probably already heard about Snowmass. It’s a tiny village just miles away from Aspen in the Roaring Fork Valley. Go there, do some shopping, play Frisbee golf and come back for more cooking classes for kids.
Also, visit Ashcroft, a real ghost town, abandoned since 1939. You won’t find opossum, there either, but there are lots of gophers.
What to do in Aspen with your kids
Have you tried horseback riding? Challenge the children; see if they can find opossum nests of clay in the trees while riding in the highlands. I bet you some of the boys do find more than one. When they do, tell them that you enrolled them in the Mom, Dad and Me program at kiddiecookers.com. There are Mom and Daughter evenings and Dad and Son barbecues as well. In these especial activities children learn to cook side by side with you.
“What a great bonding experience
for me and my daughter.”
(a thankful mom)
“Kiddiecookers has been such
an inspiration for Alexandra”
(yet another mom)
“Smart foods
for smart kids”
(Chef Shael Berni,
CEO of kiddiecookers)
By the way… the opossums are marsupials; they don’t live in nests of clay… and the most likely place to find some while staying in Colorado would be a zoo. I’ll leave that for the next headline.
What to do in Aspen during vacations
Plan a trip to the nearest zoo…which is in Denver.
What to do in Aspen during summer
Adventure time! Paragliding… and hot air balloons! Who can resist hot air balloons? Aspen has expert tandem paragliding pilots that can take you and your kids to fly like birds. Effortlessly, silent… feeling free… for a couple of hours…
And, more adventure in… Kiddiecookers’ Summer Camps! for kids aged 5 - 13. In these camps, children learn healthy nutrition habits, palate pleasers, dishes from around the world and teamwork. They last a week (again? no, not your kids! jeez!).
Now, when your kids ask you the classic: “Mom, Dad, what to do in Aspen?” tell them you want to sign them up for a summer camp. They will love it. I promised they would, remember?
